An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cook Supervisor to join a public sector organisation in East London. Supervisory responsibility for up to 10 kitchen staff.
The successful candidate would have experience of working in a school or a large scale commercial kitchen and have food ordering and food preparation experience within a school or large scale commercial kitchen.
Key duties would include:
* Food preparation - be responsible for the preparation and cooking of food for the day which may include breakfasts, sandwiches/baguettes for vending/dispensing machines, desserts and snacks in addition to main lunch services.
* Food Service - undertake and supervise food serve duties, ensuring that food is properly portioned and accounted for. Including ensuring availability within vending/dispensing machines.
* Kitchen Records/Administration - Where applicable be responsible for keeping of records of all cash received, counting and banking of cash. Complete all required operational and kitchen administration activities, e.g. staff timesheets, absence information, summary sheets, performance data, risk assessments, plant/equipment/tools monitoring, receiving and checking orders, stock taking, etc.
* Food Safety - Ensure safe and proper handling of storage stock and regularly conduct controls and checks, e.g. temperature checks, take food samples, etc.
