Reporting to: Business Development Director
Purpose
As a senior member of the Business Development Team your primary role is to engage and secure new apprenticeship business within Levy paying employers. This will be achieved in the main, through self-generated marketing and pitch presenting to Directors, high level managers or senior management teams within prospective new clients. You will inspire an on-going and consistent pipeline of prospective employers who have not previously worked with Smart Training and Recruitment Limited as a Training Provider to utilise their Apprenticeship Levy funds by Partnership. You will be providing clear and defined training information, advice and guidance at a senior level promoting the upskill of existing employees alongside any new opportunities for their workforce or wider business in-line with the employer's own business objectives and strategic plan.
Key Relationships
To build professional relationships with Employers, Learner's, SMT, SLT, TA's, Operations Managers, Careers and Employment Advisors, BDC Team and other departments across the organisation.
Key Tasks
Proactively identify, develop and engage suitable new levy paying employers ensuring they meet Health and Safety, quality and delivery requirements. At all times promote Smart TAR's current and potential portfolio of apprenticeships.
Regularly meet with suitable Levy employers at their premises to identify, discuss and plan their company training need by undertaking a training needs analysis and employer interview which will establish business opportunities as a result. Some warm leads will initially be generated by telemarketing support however the expectation is that you will generate your own quality over quantity leads in addition to this support.
Contribute towards identifying and compiling tenders and bids for new business
Develop a good working relation with the Operations Managers and their teams who will bring a good degree of local knowledge to supporting your role. Liaise regularly with Operations Managers on all potential new employers to ensure we have the necessary delivery capacity in place to deliver a high level of service.
Report to the SLT on a monthly basis your sales pipeline information and starts profile
Consistent achievement of your sales targets from month 2
Ensure CRM is fully populated with details of your entire pipeline of opportunity
Assist with and have input in the development of our Sales and Marketing strategies of the future
Travel across the region with some possible overnight stays as required and approved
Conduct yourself in a professional manner in line with the Company's Code of Conduct and relevant Policies and Procedures.
Input ideas and suggestions throughout in relation to continuous improvement, i.e. how we can improve our Levy Employer offer, services, approach, processes, materials, resources, employer experience, learner's journey, delivery model etc
Liaise with the OM's as appropriate to address any learner or employer related concerns ensuring that your line manager is kept abreast of the situation.
Maintain quality in your documentation and submissions to ensure high standards are maintained. Liaise with the central data team for feedback on any issues you may be experiencing or questions you may have.
Attend regional team meetings and SMT meetings as directed

Level 7 Management or relevant Sales qualification Health and Safety Information, Advice and Guidance CAVA / TAQA / A1 Assessors Award/ V1 / IQA Award/ PTLLS / AET
Experience
The successful candidate should be well established and experienced within the Apprenticeship Sector. They will be business focused coupled with an enhanced successful and proven track record of engaging with Senior level decision makers within large sized organisations. The candidate will be used to working towards and exceeding monthly targets in a pressured environment and delivering company support to assist others in achieving goals within an FE environment.
It is essential that the candidate has an up to date strong knowledge of apprenticeship and traineeship delivery across multiple sectors within the current reforms and regulations.

8. Driven, highly organized with proficient levels of administration and I.T. skills (including Microsoft Office 365 Suite) with the ability to prepare a bespoke high-quality employer presentation using PowerPoint.
