Group Financial Controller, Holmfirth We are looking for an ambitious group financial controller to lead the accounts team at our Holmfirth office.
Conroy Brook is an award winning, fast growing and family-owned housebuilding and construction group, now incorporating Ben Bailey Homes, with a number of ongoing high profile developments in Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.

We require a qualified accountant preferably at least 5 years experience and with a housebuilding / construction background. The successful candidate will be a confident all-rounder, team player, and able to manage their working day efficiently. You will need to be flexible and be able to think on your feet as we work in a fast-moving industry. A hands-on approach is essential as well as having exceptional attention to detail.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Preparation of Management Accounts and providing the directors with timely and meaningful reports relating to cash-flow, forecasts and profitability with commentary and analysis.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations / journal entries
  • Bank reconciliations
  • All periodic HMRC compliance
  • Ledger's including sales, purchase, sub-contractor.
  • Cash control
  • Overseeing payroll
  • P11D submissions
  • Liaising with external accountants and overseeing annual financial accounts/audit
  • Preparing reports and liaising with banks regarding raising development finance
  • Plus other ad-hoc work
Essential requirements:
  • Fully Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA
  • Experience in working in the commercial sector
  • Experience in working in the construction industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, someone who can be diplomatic yet firm to ensure finance and business objectives are met
  • Strong IT skills, with experience using Microsoft packages
  • Evolution M experience (Integrity Software)
  • Sage experience
  • CIS & VAT experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated
  • Committed and ambitious
