The Council is ambitious for the future and is working with local partners and local communities to ensure we deliver our exciting ambition for 2050.
Your new role
This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a team that provides support to young people preparing to leave care and to be responsible for their support post-care. You will play a key part in transforming the lives of Young People to enable them to integrate into the community. Their needs will be identified by a comprehensive Pathway Plan to ensure that they are living in suitable accommodation, are engaged in work, training or education and that they are not socially isolated. As a part-time Personal Advisor, you would have access to full mobile-working technology and have the continued support of management and team members. This is particularly important in cases where the young person is resistant to support and they may be under various risks. This position will be suitable for people who have experience in working with young people, looking for a change and are ready to innovate in an environment where you can stretch yourself professionally and make an impact individually. The role is part time, hours are 9.00-17.30 Monday -Wednesday or Wednesday - Friday
What you'll need to succeed
The post requires knowledge and experience of effective engagement with vulnerable care leavers and their issues. The individual employed in this post should have an understanding of risk assessment in relation to matters of child protection and the interpersonal skills to elicit positive engagement in challenging circumstances.
What you'll get in return
When joining the council you can enjoy a range of benefits including: - flexible working, salary car sacrifice scheme and excellent training and development opportunities. We are committed to ensure that you are supported in this challenging role with the appropriate level of training.
