About Cygnet Hospital Taunton
Cygnet Hospital Taunton provides 55 bedrooms across three distinct service lines which offer; acute care for men, acute care and rehabilitation for older adults and learning disability services for men who are over 18.
The Hospital is seeking a driver to support with the transportation of our staff members and patients to various locations within the community. You may also be asked to transport items if required.
In this role you'll:
• competently drive the wheelchair accessible vehicles, transporting individuals in our care safely and efficiently.
• communicate with passengers professionally and sensitively, empathising with those who are in difficult situations.
• be the driver for local and day trips and assist colleagues/individuals in our care where necessary.
• work flexibly to meet the needs of the individual in our care and unit.
• maintain confidentiality throughout the role at all times.
• undertake regular safety checks as required on the vehicles and report any problems.
• ensure that the vehicles are kept clean internally and externally.
We're looking for people who have:
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a good team player
• The sensitivity and energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating and varied lifestyle for the patients
• A genuine desire to make a real difference in people's lives
• A full driving licence / D1 licence is a requirement
