We are looking for 4 Housing Standard Officers to work across a number of service areas in Wirral's Housing Standards Team including HMO's, Selective Licensing, Empty Properties, Financial Assistance, Enforcement and Property Accreditation.

You will have excellent knowledge of legislation relating to poor housing condition and extensive experience of applying HHSRS and taking appropriate action. Wirral's second Selective Licensing Scheme is due to commence on 1st April 2019 and you will therefore be required to help with compliance inspections in the new areas as well compliance inspections for licensed HMO's.

You will be part of a busy team and will enjoy a varied workload across all of the services in the Housing Standards Team.

You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills as well as sound technical skills.

While we prefer to work informally with private landlords, Wirral has a strong track record in enforcement and we are looking to build on this record by fully utilizing all of the statutory powers available whilst also pursuing our strategic ambitions of reducing empty properties, improving the condition of the existing stock and reducing fuel poverty.
