MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - OUTSOURCING, ESL & HR

Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of marketing and business development activity for Outsourcing (including GCRS), Employer Services Ltd (ESL) and RSM Legal LLP. The Marketing and Business Development Manager will work closely with the three service line lead partners, central marketing and business development team and key staff to ensure the service lines market their products and services to the internal and external marketplaces effectively. This includes managing all internal and external communications, progressing targeting programmes for new work, and ensuring the divisions meet their growth targets.

This role has a national remit.

Responsibilities

BD planning:

  • In consultation with the heads of Outsourcing, ESL and Legal, and national and regional BD colleagues, produce and manage the marketing and business development plans and budgets
  • Deliver the service line plans, checking progress against plan regularly, and ensure delivery within budget and adequate ROI

BD targeting & proposal support

  • Devise and deliver national internal and external targeting campaigns, using a full range of online and offline channels, to generate business development leads, working with the regional and sectoral teams to generate leads and ensure follow up
  • Manage and advise on the use of internal and external data to ensure high quality data for targeting
  • Champion best practice in use of and reporting from Dynamics 365 and measure success including monthly BD reporting from Dynamics 365, using the data to help to shape and reshape BD activity and planning
  • Provide support for large proposals, ensuring the RSM bid process is followed and challenging and improving content , ensuring cross service line opportunities are considered and included
  • Manage the continuous development of proposal documentation and presentation materials to continuously improve standards and ensure the bid centre has up to date, relevant service line content
  • Support the development of testimonials / case study and proposals bank

Voice of Client

  • Conduct Voice of Client interviews and feedback responses with suggested action plans to relevant teams
  • Work with the client experience team to ensure client needs for each service line are being met, and high value/high potential clients are identified with account plans prepared

Personal and professional qualities

The role requires:

  • A professional with strong marketing and business development experience at a managerial level, particularly in targeting new business, proposal project management and marcomms
  • Strong knowledge of the fundamentals of the business development process, ideally within a professional services environment
  • A professional, credible and confident communicator, with strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels within the firm
  • Solid and relevant commercial understanding and experience
  • Experience of managing large projects and multiple relationships
  • A proactive and self-motivated individual
  • Management of own workload with minimal supervision
