Key responsibilities of the Caf?? Supervisor include:
• Taking full responsibility for the effective operation of the caf?? including cleanliness of customer areas and restocking.
• With the General Manager, reviewing sales performance regularly, agreeing targets for improvements and identifying strategies for retaining and attracting new customers and building sales and profitability.
• Reviewing the menu in collaboration with the General Manager and Head Chef.
• Ensuring that all caf?? staff are fully briefed about menus, offers and other operational information.
• Ensure any maintenance issues are reported accordingly and repaired.
• Promoting and practising relevant health and safety, food hygiene and fire safety standards.
• Ensuring that accurate cashing up and cleaning procedures are carried out every day.
• Carrying out supplies ordering, ensuring the full availability of the menu at all times, together with the processing and logging of invoices. Ensuring that Saffron is completed accurately.
• Maintaining effective stock control, storage and rotation to minimise wastage.
• Monitoring sales and stocks on an ongoing basis including monthly stock checks.
• Reviewing suppliers and prices on an ongoing basis to ensure value for money.
• Management and full understanding of the caf?? POS systems including the production of reports from the system.
• Providing visible leadership to Caf?? staff, ensuring they are motivated and operate to the high service standards expected.
• Setting a high standard and good example for caf?? staff with regard to cleanliness and hygiene to be maintained at all times including a regular deep clean schedule.
• Keeping the counter and storage areas clear, well-organised and easy to use.
• Preparing and managing caf?? staff rotas.
• Contributing to managing the performance and ongoing development of caf?? staff.
• Identifying, discussing and meeting the training and development requirements of own job role.
• Maintaining a clear customer focus and high visibility within the caf?? and viewing areas, proactively developing and maintaining high standards of customer care.
• Ensuring compliance with all organisational policies and procedures, including those for finance and revenue protection.
• Controlling and managing of enquiries, complaints and emergencies including administering First Aid as required.

Experience:
• Previous supervisory/management experience in hospitality/catering
• Experience of achieving results and making a positive difference to customer experience
• Experience of managing departmental budgets, stock and cost control including price margins
