Hunter Global are currently recruiting for a Hatchery Operative to join our clients Hatchery in the heart of Derbyshire
Job Details -
* Assisting in the day to day running of the Hatchery Operation
* Responsibility to ensure the welfare of day-old broiler chicks maintaining high standards of quality and hygiene, animal welfare and health & safety
* Hatchery Operatives are required to assist in taking care of eggs through hatching and during transfer.
* Maintaining a high quality, clean and secure hatching environment so that as many eggs as possible hatch successfully
* To undertake chick take-off, transfer; egg loading, clean up and disinfection, wash room operation and the general cleaning and tidiness of all areas, inside and outside of the hatchery.
* Hatching eggs and embryos to be handled carefully at all times to reduce cracking, leading to down hatchability.
Vacancy Objectives -
* To gain a full understanding of poultry
* To show appropriate care of day old chicks, adhering to codes of practice, bird welfare.
* To adhere to health & safety standards always.
* To undertake other duties within the hatchery operation as required.
* To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.
Person Specification -
* Applicants should be a hardworking, self-motivated team player with a desire for further development.
* Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision, you must take real pride in what you do
Working Hours -
* 7:00am to 17:30.00pm on a rotating shift system, giving an average of a 40-hour working week over 4 days (Monday to Saturday)
