Summary

The successful applicant will be responsible for implementing and further developing our ambitious fundraising strategy. including crowdfunding, grant applications, regular giving channels, mid- and high-net-worth donors, legacies and events. The job will require substantial fundraising experience combined with an unwavering commitment to winning real democracy!

Location: Bristol preferred (remote working also considered).

Salary: GBP20,800 (or London real living wage if you live in London)

Hours: flexible, 40 per week. Occasional out-of-hours work will be required. We would consider a job-share between two candidates.

Duration: One year rolling contract.

Some travel will be required.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead our fundraising activity. The successful applicant will take forward implementation of an ambitious fundraising strategy developed by an experienced NGO consultant, including crowdfunding, grant applications, regular giving channels, mid- and high-net-worth donors, legacies and events. The role will also take responsibility for liaison with donors, including perks and updates through various media. The successful applicant requires experience and confidence in delivering results across multiple fundraising channels.

The successful candidate/s will:

Be passionate about winning Proportional Representation in the House of Commons.

Have experience and confidence in managing multiple fundraising channels.

Be passionate about good donor stewardship.

Have an ability to learn quickly and to self-manage.

Have an ability to work with a diverse team, including potential management of a fundraising staff member or volunteers.

The role sits within our small national campaign team, and will report directly to the Co-Chief Executive, Klina Jordan. The contract will be for one year, with the possibility to extend depending on progress made and campaign funding secured. The role will be flexible depending on campaign requirements.

The job holder is expected to work closely with existing and new volunteer fundraisers in order to achieve these objectives. There is additionally potential to hire a part-time fundraising staff member, who would report to the successful applicant.

Areas of responsibility:

Leading, coordinating and evaluating fundraising activities.

Taking charge of the selection, development and stewardship of our donor database.

Preparing grant applications in collaboration with the campaign team.

Identifying and pursuing new sources of income.

Managing fundraising events.

Ensuring regular liaison with donors through written campaign updates and other means.

Act as point of contact with external fundraising agencies where appropriate.

Ability to work well as a member of a dynamic, distributed campaign team, including potentially managing a supporting staff member.

Contributing to the direction and strategy of the campaign as part of our democratically-organised core team.

Abilities and experience sought:

Proven experience as a successful nonprofit fundraiser, or a comparable sales role.

Expertise with donor management (CRM) systems.

Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.

Excellent oral and written presentation abilities.

Strong digital skills: social media, Google Drive, Slack etc.

Project management expertise.

A bachelor's degree, or equivalent training, education & experience.

Basic knowledge of voting systems and the politics of electoral reform.

Ideally the successful applicant will be able to work from our Bristol HQ in lovely Clifton Wood, but we are open to applicants who may wish to work remotely for part of the time.
