Job Description

Based at 353 Clepington Road, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.

RequirementsYou will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying or other construction discipline or a HNC in an associated discipline with related estimating experience.ResponsibilitiesTo manage the work of the Estimating Section including tendering for capital projects in all trades and providing estimates for minor work, together with support to the department in relation to project planning and procurement.The Individual

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of Building Construction Methodology and Maintenance Works and extensive experience of preparing tenders in a highly competitive market. You will also have considerable knowledge of the current JCT Conditions of Contract and Standard Method of Measurement SMM7 and CESMM and of analytical and electronic estimating and billing systems.

You will have the ability to cope with conflicting demands, deadlines for tender submissions and, deal with continuous workloads, peaks and troughs. You will be computer literate, including the use of spreadsheets and management reports and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be able to coach and develop staff, have strong negotiation skills, be flexible and willing to work additional hours when required.

You will have a current driving licence. You should have an understanding of the CDM Regulations and Health and Safety within the Construction Industry.
