THE ROLE

The successful Field Service Engineer will be:

Based from Macclesfield but working across the UK and occasionally abroad

  • Working with a broad range of commercial scale processing and energy generation equipment including:
  • Generators, Drying Systems, Bulk Handling equipment, Biomass and Gas heat generation systems, Dewatering systems, In Vessel Composters

Acting as the face of the company and maintaining a high level of professionalism, the appointed Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and servicing of the above equipment. Duties will include Electrical Fault diagnostics, reading electrical drawings, software and hardware upgrades, machine system wiring, as well as mechanical tasks on the above equipment.

THE CANDIDATE

The ideal Field Service Engineer will have:

  • An Engineering background with an Electrical bias or mechanical bias with electrical qualifications, hands on experience and problem solving skills
  • be able to demonstrate a strong background working in a field service or technical support role coming from a Field Service, Maintenance, Engineering, Technical Support, Test & Repair or Installation environment.
  • Flexibility in their working approach and be prepared to stay away from home. Although the appointed person will mainly be working within the UK, potential candidates must be flexible enough to travel overseas on occasion.
  • Automation experience and a basic understanding of PLC systems
  • Solid electrical fault finding skills -Computer skills, Ability to process documentation and apply for work and safety permits
  • Training in relevant safety procedures and certification where relevant
  • Be motivated, have a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate at every level of a business
