Quality Engineer - South Wales

Our client is a leading global automotive component supplier to the major car OEMs both in the UK and Europe. Due to their recent success and growth they have an opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join their successful organisation at their South Wales location.

The role reports to the Quality Manager on site and offers an excellent package for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in the development and implementation of the Quality department's strategy, to ensure it meets the business requirements and customer deliverables, as well as ensuring the departmental performance against set goals.

* Support the Quality Manager with reporting and analysis of KPI performance.

* Ensuring appropriate investigation of problem-solving activities in relation to discrepancies, errors, complaints, failures or ad-verse events requiring documented review and action.

* Assist in the management of customer audits / internal audits and robust corrective actions as required.

* Ensuring shop floor documentation is up to date and present on the shop floor.

* Support the Change Management and APQP Process.

* Support with the PSW/PPAP & APQP process.

* Manage documentation review process for all current project part references ensuring that all documentation including PFMEA, PCP, QCS and related documentation are correct.

Profile of candidate:

* Ideally you will be from a relative automotive of manufacturing quality background, HND or degree educated or equivalent.

* Knowledge of IATF 16949.

* Conversant and can demonstrate practical experience of using the Quality Toolbox.

* Experience in high volume automotive component manufacturing.

* Ability to work under own initiative, whilst also being a team player.

* Excellent communication, planning, analysis and organisation skills with exceptional attention to detail.

* Strong ability to demonstrate strategic thinking and problem solving, a driver of continuous improvement and change.

* Ability to manage a wide variety of activities at the same time.

* IT literate.

* Full driving licence
