Goldwyn School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant who is passionate about working with young people with Special Educational Needs, and who can help us make a positive impact on a student's life by helping them to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting time to become part of our organisation as we look to further expand and build on our success.
Goldwyn Sixth Form College is an independent special post 16 provider for students with EHCPs. Currently courses on offer at the College are Construction, Motor Mechanics, English and Maths GCSE. The successful applicant will support students on a 1:1 basis and in group sessions to motivate the students to learn and engage them in each lesson.
All our students have an Education, Health and Care Plan in place and a range of needs including Social, Emotional & Mental Health difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and ADHD.
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A passion and commitment to supporting vulnerable young people
- Experience and a background in working within construction - bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, plastering, painting and decorating, construction operations, wall and floor tiling, electrical and plumbing is desirable, but a "practical" person or someone with DIY experience would also be considered.
- Ideally have some knowledge or experience working with young people with SEN
- Are willing to work as part of a team
- Have the commitment and enthusiasm to provide bespoke learning experiences to troubled young people
- Patience, resilience, calm and composure
- Flexibility and adaptability
- A proven ability to meet deadlines and work comfortably in a challenging and demanding environment
This post is offered on a salary of Kent Range 3; GBP15,628 - GBP17,188 (actual salary GBP11,583 - GBP12,740 per annum) + SENA of GBP1257.60 per annum and is for 32.5 hours per week 39 weeks per year (term time only plus
