Head of Distribution and Logistics - The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced distribution centred individual to drive forward operations within an international logistics and freight forwarding organisation. Having secured their largest UK account for an additional 3 years, this role will directly influence the successful operational management of the account.

The challenge for the Head of Distribution and Logistics will be to ensure strong communication channels within the team, who are based across different offices, and implement SOP. This person will be overseeing the day to day operations of all activity relating to the account, in particular land freight, so will need to be a strong delegator whilst ensuring that all parties keep to defined timescales. You will oversee all aspects of operational P&L, project management and client management.

Head of Distribution and Logistics - Key Responsibilities:

- Execute the company vision of good business development and operational procedure

- Oversee all projects relating to the account, ensuring they are delivered to time constraints

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the team, promoting a good team work ethic at all levels

- Accountable for all reports and documents relating to customs and the account

- Build and maintain relationships with the customer and multiple offices

Head of Distribution and Logistics - Experience Required:

- Strong background with import land freight

- Proven track record with team management across multiple sites including training and development

- Great commercial insight, with ability to take accountability for groupage services and revenues of a dossier

- Resilient character to deal with multiple demands
