Maintenance Assistant – Central Office (Ref: 675)
The Union of Shop, Distributive and Allied Workers is the UK's fifth largest and fastest growing trade union.
A vacancy exists for a Maintenance Assistant at the Union's Central Office in Manchester.
The post holder will be expected to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the job, which may include weekend work, and will hold a full, valid driving licence with access to their own vehicle.
The position is Grade 1, salary range £23,016 pa rising to £27,165 pa after 4 years’ service.

Principal duties are: to assist in the provision of a general maintenance service at Central Office, helping to maintain the security, fire alarm and other health and safety related systems and statutory records.
The successful applicant will possess: experience of general maintenance of buildings and equipment (including electrical, plumbing, decorating and joinery work) and knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
