An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic & highly motivated person to join our housing brokerage service. We deliver this service in partnership with NACRO across Kent.

The purpose of the role is to support people leaving custody to secure and / or maintain accommodation and successfully resettle back into their community.

Applicants will need a good understanding of issues involved in supporting offenders in the community. Our mission is to 'Enhance the Life Chances' of the people we work with.

A confident and motivated team player, you should be able to work on your own initiative, understand people's needs and have the skills to motivate and inspire individuals.

Successful candidate will appreciate the value of clear professional boundaries and be able to evidence high standards of good practice.

About you

You should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Competence to operate effectively and safely when working with service users.
  • Ability to undertake risk assessments and identify potential risks and barriers.
  • A sound understanding of the needs, priorities and entitlements of offenders, of the welfare benefits system and homelessness legislation.
  • Ability to develop effective, individually tailored support plans with customers.
  • Ability to build and maintain wide-ranging relationships with partner agencies, accommodation providers and specialist organisations.
  • Experience of providing effective and impartial information, advice and guidance.
  • Have excellent organisational skills.
  • Empathy with the needs of customers with varying and complex needs.
