This leading global law firm is keen to hire an experienced legal Credit Controller to join their busy and vibrant Chelmsford office.

Due to additional workloads, this rapidly expanding firm require a Credit Controller, preferably with team leader skills who can provide all round debt management to some of the firm's largest and most prestigious clients whilst assist with the supervision of the Credit Control team.

Working within the Credit Control Manager and wider Accounts division, you will be required to act as a key contact for the firm regarding credit control matters. Duties include but are not limited to;

* Identifying and developing key client contacts

* Produce debtor analysis for key clients and partners and ensure compliance with clients specific requirements

* Ensuring active management of the firm's aged debt to meet collections and lock up targets

* Ensuring all credit control processes and procedures are under continual review, developing strategies to resolve where appropriate

* Ensuring the team complies with and adheres to the firm's working practices, quality procedures, advising management on any changes to SAR, VAT regulation or client SLAs

* Ensuring credit control database is kept up to date at all times

* Managing credit control team projects through to completion

* Lead on projects and other ad-hoc duties.

Candidates will ideally have come from a legal credit control background and have experience of using Elite 3E or another recognised credit management software. Other requirements required are;

* Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT

* Excellent analytical and financial skills with good attention to detail both personally and for the team

* Ability to lead and motivate a team including goal setting and performance management

* Can do attitude, with good judgement and delegating skills

* Excellent communication and relationship building skills, developed in a partnership environment

* Strong track record of developing and delivering process improvement projects and change management initiatives across revenue

* Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Elite 3E (or similar Financial Systems).
