An exciting opportunity exists to join the Aqua Park Cardiff team for summer 2019.

Fixed Term Contract 27th May 2019 until 15th September 2019 inclusive


Who we are:

We are the UK's largest multi-site Aqua Park operator with sites in Suffolk, Rutland and Cardiff.

We provide an environment in which our customers can have fun and feel safe. We have a very strong safety culture.

We are industry leaders, instrumental in creating the Aquaparks Steering Group in the UK. This is a safety and best practice forum for operators in the UK and Northern Ireland.

We offer the RLSS Accredited Open Water Lifeguard course and develop the skills of all the employees we recruit.

The Leisure Shift Leader Role:

You will be responsible for the day to day safe and effective operation of the Aqua Park, to enable our customers to enjoy their experience on the park. You will ensure that the park runs to time by managing the Customer Service Teams and the Lifeguard teams. 

About You:

+ You must have previous work experience in Customer Service, Administration/and Lifeguarding. 
+ You must either have a Lifeguarding qualification, (NPLQ, NBVQ or OWL) valid for the entire season in which you are applying to work, with experience of working in a Lifeguard role; 
Or, be prepared to gain the RLSS Open Water Qualification, and already have significant work experience in a relevant role. 
+ Relevant previous experience will have been gained in the leisure industry in a supervisory role, in which you have held responsibility for overseeing customer’s health and safety. 
+ You will possess a valid First Aid at Work Qualification; 
Or be prepared to gain the qualification before commencing an operational role. 
+ You need the ability to remain calm under pressure and to find solutions to operational issues. 
+ With a practical mindset capable of undertaking work on the park itself. 
+ Computer literate, with the ability to learn bespoke booking systems, and manage daily tasks in excel and word documents.
+ Excellent verbal and communication skills.
+ With an organised and methodical approach to support the site. 
+ Some previous experience of training new employees, or experience of coaching team members for results and dealing with any initial performance and conduct issues. 
+ Ideally you will hold a valid driving licence with your own transport. 

Other Information:

+ You will receive full training in order to represent the Aqua Park.
+ The role requires you to have the right to work in the UK and be DBS checked

Leisure Manager, Fitness Manager, Gym Assistant Manager, Centre Duty Manager, Water Sports Manager, Swimming Centre Supervisor, Aquapark Manager, Lifeguard, Swimming Instructor, Swimming Coach, Watersports Coach, Lifeguard.
