Generator Service Engineer

Generator Service Engineer required. My client is a well-established dealer of generators and associated equipment, operating across the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a Generator Service Engineer to undertake service and breakdown repairs at a range of customer sites, covering an area across the Central Belt.

The successful engineer will have previous experience working on a range of diesel generators and will ideally have held a Field Service Engineer position before. You will be apprenticeship served with relevant experience gained within the power generation sector and will have excellent communication skills, crucial for this customer facing role. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to progress their career with a market leader in the rental power sector.

Generator Service Engineer Position Overview

• Service and repair equipment as required, diagnosing machine faults using appropriate test equipment and recommending repairs
• Identify parts and procedures required to complete repairs, filling out technical reports and other documentation as required
• Provide technical support to customers and colleagues, both face-to-face and over the phone
• Determine most cost-effective repair/resolution to minimise customer downtime.
• Support the 24/7 coverage via an on call rota system

Generator Service Engineer Position Requirements

• Apprenticeship served with relevant experience in the power generation sector
• Good working experience of mechanical and electrical / electronic systems
• Fully competent on all aspects of diagnosis and repair
• Excellent communication skills especially when customer facing
• Full (clean) UK driving licence
• Based within a commutable distance of Glasgow

Generator Service Engineer Position Remuneration

• Salary up to GBP27,000 depending on experience
• Paid overtime
• Call out rota: 1 in 3-4
• 20 days' holiday + bank holidays
• Company vehicle
• Pension
