Children & Young People’s Activities Officer - Funded by Children in Need

37 hours per week - 3 year fixed term contract

£21,495 per annum

Based at our offices in Leicester, our project funded by Children in Need has given us an exciting opportunity to recruit an innovative and enthusiastic individual to enhance the lives of children and young people with a sight loss.

You will be responsible for organising and delivering a programme of challenging, fun and exciting activities for children and young people with sight loss.

You will develop a programme of activities that meet the needs of individuals through proactive engagement with Children, Young People and their families to enable them to meet their aspirations. Through these activities you will build the confidence and self-esteem, improve personal development and support individuals to make life choices.

A flexible working approach is required as there is a need to provide activities in the evenings and weekends and deliver residential holidays organised for children and young people, you will also offer direction to sessional workers and volunteers involved in supporting activities.

You will have experience of working with children and young people with disabilities. In addition a level 3 qualification (or equivalent) is required to work with children and/or disabled children and a GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language at Grade C or above. The role involves driving, therefore a driving licence is essential.
