Are you an efficient and proactive organiser with good people skills? Then join St Giles Trust as an Administrator and help make a difference to an important project aimed at reducing reoffending.
About us
An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.
Wales CRC and the MOJ are increasing the numbers of prison based resettlement staff, as part of their commitment to better housing and resettlement outcomes for prisoners, a cause St Giles Trust wholeheartedly supports. If you want to be part of this positive change then this role is for you.
About this position
You will be providing administrative support for the St Giles Trust team across the region. This will include organising work, keeping records, managing the team diary and weekly movements sheet, and communicating information via phone and email.
You will also be expected to manage, organise, develop and update the Client Database, as well as to develop and maintain effective and efficient administrative and office systems, such as filing and recording systems. A further aspect of your role will be to help ensure that all relevant administrative functions comply with systems and procedures, standards and performance targets.
To secure this fulfilling opportunity, you must have:
- Strong IT skills, including proven experience of using Word, Excel and Outlook in a similar work environment, plus the ability to work with case databases on a day-to-day basis.
- Good organisational and communication skills, particularly as regards managing queries.
- Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to produce accurate work, work systematically under pressure and set your own priorities.
- The ability to promote diversity, maintain confidentiality and work constructively in a prison environment, preferably with understanding of the issues facing prisoners before and after release.
In return, you can expect a competitive salary, generous leave allowance, staff pension, flexible working, a mentoring programme, an advice and counselling service, season ticket loan and much more.
This appointment is subject to security clearance from the Prison Service. For this reason we can only accept applications from candidates who could be fully cleared to work in this environment.
Closing date: 24th March 2019. Interviews: Early April 2019.
