The main duties of the Edinburgh based Finance and Banking Supervisor are to be responsible for the banking and cash flow function within the Finance and Procurement team. This includes supervision on an established, small team.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Finance and Banking Supervisor are;

  • To work closely with the existing finance team to deliver efficient and effective banking transaction services.
  • The day to day role involves managing ten centrally held bank accounts, reviewing transactions, ensuring bank reconciliations are kept up to date and managing the cash forecast position to ensure funding is sufficient to meet our day to day requirements.

  • To work with the banking team ensure that various income streams (cash, credit cards, cheques, BACS) are reflected correctly in the accounting ledger and also verify the payment runs are monitored and tracked correctly via a regular cashflow forecast.

  • To supervise the daily, weekly and month end processes to ensure timely processing of receipting/allocating of income, journals and reconciliations before finance system closedown each month.

  • To supervise, evaluate and challenge financial information, monitor deadlines and work with key contacts to improve processes for cash handling across the business.

Profile

The successful Finance and Banking Supervisor candidate will;

  • Experience of supervising at least 1 member of staff, including developing, mentoring and improving team performance.

  • Have experience of managing a banking transactions team for income & expenditure and ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.

  • Have or be willing to work towards a formal accountancy qualification (ACCA,AAT,CIMA).
