Business Analyst
Pay: GBP140 a day umbrella
Hours: 36 hour week
Duration: 4 month
Sector: Public
Scope: Inside IR-35
Job Purpose:
To apply advanced knowledge in business analysis, covering a range of technical areas for agreed transformation programmes/projects, to the analysis and resolution of complex problems at all stages of the programme life cycle from initiation to delivery, to ensure the portfolio works to tighter managed delivery plans and more certain implementation time-lines.
Main Accountabilities:
Consultancy, analysis and problem solving:
* Apply a range of business analysis techniques, working across a number of programmes within the Business Transformation portfolio, in order to elicit/capture/document programme requirements, and translate into detailed delivery plans and schedules, to ensure that the costs, impact and resources required are fully understood and tightly planned.
* Work with internal customers/stakeholders to document and develop a shared understanding of existing business processes, functions and systems, in order to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiencies and co-ordinate/facilitate the development of a road map to delivering change.
Internal customer focus:
* Build an in-depth understanding of the particular operational context, opportunities and challenges facing internal customers in the SBUs/Functions/Regions, and of how those relate to wider issues across the broader organisation, to ensure that programme scope is fully understood and requirements are fully captured, costed and risk assessed, based on informed business insight and joined-up thinking.
* Provide a bridge between the end-user and the programme(s) to ensure a common understanding of requirements, options and the implications of the selection option.
Service Improvement:
* Identify and make recommendations to more senior managers for improvements to ways of working that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the business.
* Make technical/professional recommendations which have a measurable impact on business performance (e.g. in terms of efficiency, quality, reliability, mitigation of risk, productivity, profitability or customer satisfaction).
Commercial and Financial management:
* Undertake cost/benefit calculations during business case development and before making recommendations on changes to the business to support commercially sound decision-making.
Qualifications:
Degree level qualified or equivalent professional experience.
Knowledge & Experience:
* Demonstrable experience of providing range of business analysis services throughout the project life cycle on change programmes (from development of Business Case through to benefits analysis) impacting at SBU/Regional level
* Track record of delivering sustainable business-focused solutions
* Detailed understanding of business process mapping and design and systems analysis and design
* Extensive experience of business analysis and development in an SAP context
