A Droylsden based business are looking for Test and Support Engineers and Support and Improvement Engineers, to work with the Product Development Managers, Design Engineers and Production Engineers.

The role consists of the below.

Conducting internal/external compliance testing and liaising with third party test houses. Perform software and product validation testing.

* Ensure that new products in development comply with current international regulations.

* Review existing products to ensure continued compliance.

* Keep up to date with the state of the art, in regard to compliance.

* Advise new product development teams on best practices to ensure new products pass certification tests promptly.

* Provide estimates of compliance engineering effort to assist in planning project activities.

* Perform assessment on existing products to standards.

* Perform validation testing on software.

* Contribute towards product performance tests.

Answering support issues from internal quality and internal technical support departments, in regard to compliance issues.

New Product Development Activities

* Assist in compliance requirements; obtain quotes and timing estimates from external test houses.

* Fill in and submit the correct documentation for (bluetooth) radio applications.

* Coordinate with project teams to organise and schedule test samples to be shipped to external test houses.

* Co-ordinate and pull together the required information for TCF, liaising with the Project Development Manager.

* Create new declarations of conformity.

* Advise on the correct legislation and wording to be placed inside instruction manuals.

Existing Product Activities

* Perform compliance assessments on existing products, which may be affected by a change in legislation.

* Report any deviations with regard to existing products and new legislation.

* Update manager with requirements to bring any deviations back into line.

* Contribute towards and help drive through existing product updates.

* Update existing declarations of conformity.

* Build up a good working relationship with both internal and external customers.

* Contribute to test work required for quality improvement activities.

Assisting in Validation Testing of Software

* Use software test plans to prove new designs comply with development specifications.

* Report any anomalies in Jira, in a clear, easy to reproduce manor.

* Able to operate internal electromagnetic compatibility testing equipment (RFI immunity and emissions, ESD, etc.) from time to time.

Write up any internal tests, which have been performed into a test report.

The terms and conditions/benefits for the role are as follows:

The working hours will be 36 hours per week.

The standard hours are Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 5:00pm and Friday - 8:30am to 3:30pm. Flexible working can be offered if this would be the successful candidate's preference, where the core hours are Monday to Thursday - 9:30am to 4:00pm and Friday - 9:30am to 3:00pm. There is then the flexibility to work between the hours of 7:30am and 6:30pm to ensure that the total hours for the week come to 36.

The salary on offer will be up to GBP32,500 per annum, depending upon how well the successful candidate fulfils the requirements of the role.

The role will be permanent.

23 days holiday per annum, plus an additional day for each year of service (capped at 25 days), plus statutory bank holidays.
