CATERING ASSISTANT - 18 Hrs
We are looking for a catering assisatnt to provide support to the chef enabling the production of wholesome meals to Service Users. To maintain a very high level of cleanliness in all Kitchens, Dining Rooms and equipment used in meal preparation and cooking. To interact with and take Service User's requests. Cover all aspects of Kitchen duties as required by the Chef
Tasks
1. To work and liaise with all kitchen staff as part of an effective team.
1. To have a working knowledge of basic food hygene, health and safety, fire safety procedures and COSHH Regulations.
1. Support Service Users by serving food as required and taking dietary requests.
1. Interact with Service Users, explaining the daily menus, understanding their dietary and feeding requirements and relaying the information to the duty chef.
1. Prepare the dining room for meals and maintain a high standard of cleanliness in this area
1. Operate the food and snack trolley twice a day throughout the building ensuring that Service Users are given every opportunity to partake of a drink and snacks.
1. To ensure that the Kitchen cleaning rota is adhered to.
1. Ensure that sufficient tea/coffee/milk and sugar/sweetners are available for Service Users at the drinks station.
1. Assist chef in the preparation of snacks and meals also basic food cooking.
1. Ensure an understanding of the relevant policies and regulations pertinent to the catering environment .
1. To report all faults and defects to chef and the Maintenance Operative.
1. To attend Staff Training sessions as directed.
1. To adhere CQC standards, regulations and all CareTech policies and procedures.
1. To maintain the excellent reputation of the Caretech Group and Roborough House in particular.
* To complete other reasonable duties as directed and as required by the operational need of the business
