Is dedicated to transporting liquid foodstuff, offering their customers the best solution with a strong focus on quality and innovation. They are specialists in road tanker transport as well as intermodal tank container services. With a network of owned vehicles and dedicated sub-contractors over different hubs all over Europe and Russia, they provide European "foodstuff multimodal services".
Due to exciting UK growth, they are now seeking to recruit experienced Transport Planners and/or Fleet Controllers to support and drive forward the company's growth ambitions within the sector.
PURPOSE
Reporting to the Managing Director the post holder will join a small but dynamic team, planning and scheduling a fleet of internal and dedicated contractor vehicles, ensuring that the Company provides an optimum, high quality service to its customers.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
• Ensuring that customer requirements are delivered in a timely, efficient way whilst delivering best value for money
• Route planning for national and international operations using in-house traffic management software
• Managing driver schedules and assisting with directions and route deviation
• Undertaking driver briefings
• Support and develop effective working relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers
• Liaising with customers and suppliers, addressing and resolving issues as they occur
• Upholding and promoting the Company's health, safety and compliance procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
• At least GCSE ('O' level) standard including minimum grade C in Mathematics and English Language
• International CPC qualification preferred. Unqualified candidates will be considered however would need to undertake relevant training
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Strong and concise communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good grammatical and numerical skills
• Fully competent with IT including Microsoft Office applications (Word / Excel / Power point / Outlook)
EXPERIENCE
• Must have previous proven experience of planning transport operations, ideally within a liquid bulk environment. Candidates with suitable related experience of working within a transport or environment and who are wishing to develop will be considered
• Knowledge of transport systems and regulations
PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Organised and accurate with good attention to details
• Self-motivated and able to work to strict deadlines in a fast paced, customer focused environment
• A pro-active problem solver
• Effective personal time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
• Good interpersonal skills and a genuine team player
