Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering (AAE)
(Fixed-term for 30 months)
The Department of Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering (AAE) is looking to recruit a Specialist Research Technician to provide specialist skilled technical engineering support for academic staff, students and researchers using the Chassis Dyno, Engines and Powertrains research laboratories and workshops.
AAE has been awarded a multimillion-pound grant to offer enhanced modelling/simulation methods, tailored to the virtual product development and integration workflow for the next generation of electrified vehicles. The aim is to push the boundaries in the modelling and simulation of electric components such as batteries, motors, power-electronics and to offer systems level integration including optimal control of powertrain, thermal management, NVH and vehicle dynamics.
The successful candidate will be working with Loughborough academics and partners to support laboratory work, mainly involving Hardware in the Loop (HiL) testing, noise vibration and harshness (NVH), battery and electric powertrain measurements.
