Annual salary: from GBP19,000 (negotiable)
Hours per week: 37.5
Our Chef role involves:
* Being responsible for the production of the hospital food for patients, staff and visitors
* Pre-preparing meals for days you are not on shift,
* Stock ordering, and stock control, and supporting budgetary control
* Producing daily meals, snacks and buffets as well as serving the food as required
* Kitchen management / record keeping against legislation/ and thorough cleaning of the main kitchen
* Working from the hours of 9am until 5pm on a flexible weekly rota
* Being in control of Kitchen COSHH management systems
* Thorough awareness of H&S, and Food hygiene management
* Completing breakaway & conflict resolution training
* Staying compliant with all mandatory training
To be successful as a Chef, you'll need:
* City & Guilds 706/1, equivalent Basic Food Preparation Cooking or City & Guilds 706/2 (essential)
* Basic Food Hygiene (essential)
* Intermediate Food Hygiene (desirable)
* To be able to prepare and produce quality food to a high standard
* Knowledge of menu planning and costing
* Some supervising experience
* A high level of numeracy
* To be able to communicate with patients, visitors and staff at all levels
* To be able to cope with ease under pressure
