Located in Sheffield, we are currently working in unison with an Internationally recognised Manufacturing firm, who due to sustained growth are now looking to appoint a Production Supervisor.

The role will involve co-ordinating, driving, coaching and leading a small team of production operators, whom manufacture a range of bespoke / standard products.

In addition you will be required to competently set and operate a range of metal forming, pressing equipment and undertake assembly tasks.

The main duties include:

* Effectively co-ordinate and plan materials, tasks and manning to maximise productivity and meet customer demands

* Develop a flexible, competent team and ensure individuals reach suitable competence levels to perform at a high standard

* Establish clear and challenging production targets and monitor performance

* Competently set and operate a range of metal forming, pressing equipment and assembly tasks

* Enforce all safe working procedures, practices, rules, regulations and instructions given

* Ensure level of work is performed to appropriate standards first time and QA produces are adhere to

* Control working hours of all employees and maintain discipline within the Company terms & conditions and disciplinary procedures

* Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, safety tours and employee engagement meetings

* Communicate key business information, deliver tool box talks and facility improvement meetings

* To promote an environment of continuous improvement through application of lean principles, 5S, SMED within all activities

Given the nature of the role, the following skills / experience would be considered important:

* Posses sound mechanical awareness / engineering knowledge

* Demonstrable experience of having worked in / led continuous improvement projects / initiatives

* Experience of leading a Team

* Proven Leadership qualities

* Experience of working to targets, monitoring performance, giving feedback and dealing with issues in a timely manner

* Ability to Train/coach

* ILM Supervisory Certificate or similar

* Ability to deal with change and work calmly under pressure

* Awareness of Lean Manufacturing Techniques / 5s and looks to improve everyday tasks
