About Us…

We provide a wide range of support services including fostering, residential, community and family support. We also provide specialist educational support through our schools and colleges. We are looking for a music co-ordinator to lead an 18-month programme thanks to a recent grant award. Youth Music Fuse is an exciting project that will engage our students in our two special schools and further education college for students in Great Manchester with complex needs to:

  • Inspire our students by delivering fun and engaging music sessions in our two special schools Cheadle and special FE college in the centre of Manchester
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our staff, services, grant funder and support teams
  • Oversee an engaging performance by our students in spring/summer 2020 in partnership with the Together Trust and Lowry Theatre in Salford
  • Keep a high standard of communication and reporting throughout the project in line with fundraising and grant funder requirements

As Music Co-ordinator for Youth Music Fuse…

You will join our passionate team on an 18-month contract as a qualified teacher to ensure high quality music curriculum provision and effective learning in line with Youth Music grant outcomes.

You will have an understanding of students’ needs and relevant teaching strategies, you will plan and teach sessions in your subject area, promoting a love of learning and curiosity and developing students’ skills and knowledge in music. You will know and understand how to assess the relevant curriculum area and use assessments and data to monitor progress, set targets and facilitate pupil achievement.

As a qualified teacher (QTS) or qualified teacher learning and skills (QTLS) and experience of working with children with autism and associated conditions including sensory processing difficulties and mental health, you will have experience of effective project management, reporting writing and working with multi-disciplinary teams. You will also have good awareness of current issues relating to music and ideally, the effective use of assistive technology to aid student learning.

You will be committed to the ethos of our services and the positive values of Together Trust. As an excellent communicator, you will be able to work collaboratively. You will be knowledgeable about current developments in education and special education in particular, and be committed to developing your own professional skills.
