Bluefin are working with a high technology client in Loughborough who are looking to take on an experienced Systems Engineer.
Working as part of a cross-functional team, you will be responsible for delivering systems and architecture definition to support development over the full product lifecycle. This includes the creation and management of product requirements and their devolution into sub-systems and functions and responsibility for driving safety engineering activities to support successful release of products to market.
The role provides support to the wider engineering team, from concept design and systems architecture through integration and problem solving of prototype systems to supporting verification and certification testing.
About you
You will have product development experience. What is key however, is that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment. You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues. As such, excellent communication skills are vital.
You will hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or possess an appropriate non-degree level qualification alongside suitable industrial experience.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of defining and delivering sub-systems and/or full products and of implementation of Design for excellence principles, in particular design for manufacture. Ideally you will have experience of assessing and selecting appropriate manufacturing processes.
You will have a proven track record of problem solving and fault finding of complex systems. Innovative thinking and an understanding of a range of engineering disciplines are essential.
