Communications Engagement Manager
Newark
Permanent/Full Time 35 hours per week
Salary £28,000

The Wildlife Trusts believe that people are part of nature and that a healthy, wildlife-rich world is the foundation of our wellbeing and prosperity.  We have a mission to secure Living Landscapes and Living Seas and to inspire society to value and act for nature.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Engagement Manager to join our team and take responsibility for the strategic planning, management and development of our annual campaigns – 30 Days Wild and Wild About Gardens as well as Wildlife Watch, our family membership brand.

The successful candidate will support and help The Wildlife Trusts to build support for our annual communications campaigns and for Wildlife Watch, as well as overseeing our presence at key national events. You will ensure our communications embody our brand and beliefs, support our strategy and use audience insights to engage and inspire people to get involved. You will be part of a tight and dedicated central team, with a modest budget but an unmatched depth and breadth of human resources to draw on across The Wildlife Trusts.

We are looking for an organised and driven character who values and respects each person’s contribution, experience and knowledge. You will be a communications champion with experience, creativity and leadership skills. Strategic by nature, you will be able to see the bigger picture and strive for improvement. Developing and sharing best practice is key to how we work, so excellent relationship management must be core to who you are.

The Wildlife Trusts is a grassroots movement of 800,000 members, 43,000 volunteers and 2,800 staff across the UK dedicated to our vision and driven by our beliefs.  There are 36 Wildlife Trusts in England, four in Wales and Trusts for Scotland, Northern Ireland, Alderney and the Isle of Man. The Wildlife Trusts have an unmatched presence on the ground helping to inspire millions of people about wildlife every year and managing nearly 100,000 hectares of land. Being part of The Wildlife Trust movement enables you to make a real difference and we look for people who share our values.

We value courage, respect, integrity, trust and responsibility.  Whilst we are passionate in promoting our aims, we are not judgemental, and we are inclusive.  Our society is divided, and The Wildlife Trusts want to reduce, not increase, that division.

The Wildlife Trusts is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.

If you feel this is the role for you then we look forward to hearing from you.
