A market leader in optical devices is now looking to for a Vacuum Coatings Maintenance Technician / Engineer to join their growing team in Taunton.

Working in the maintenance team, you will ensure the maintenance of production and quality, through continued operation of machinery, mechanical equipment and tools.

You will provide hands on support in the servicing, repair and maintenance requirements on their range of machinery and associated parts.

You will be responsible for the TPM, and unplanned / unscheduled maintenance, repair or replacement issues.

To ensure TPM allows for minimum downtime, you will work closely with Operators and Shift Cell Leaders to complete ongoing Maintenance of their machines and tools.

The main focus of this role is the Vacuum Coating Equipment and Tools, however, there may be opportunities to work with and support other maintenance activities onsite.

Other duties will include reporting and recording any machine breakdowns or equipment malfunctions.

Experience:

To succeed in this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role, as a Maintenance Engineer / Technician or Service Engineer, working with Vacuum Coating Machinery.

Candidates from Process Technician / Engineering who have experience in tool maintenance will also be considered.

Qualifications:

Ideally you will have completed an Apprenticeship, HNC or vocational qualification in mechanical, maintenance or engineering.
