The Company:
 
Our client is a fresh, vibrant human resources support company that provides outstanding HR software and support. With strong growth and a strong brand, they are now looking for an HR Consultant to join their team in Bath on a part time basis working 20 – 24 hours per week across three full days or five shorter days.
 
Your Role:
 
As an HR Consultant, you will be tasked with providing high quality human resources advise to a range of customers, ensuring companies can effectively utilise and support their people.
 
Supported by a customer service/HR admin team who are the first point of contact for customers, you will deliver up-to-date, compliant HR advice to a variety of small businesses.
 
Providing HR support across all areas of generalist HR, you will:
 
- Support employee relations, redundancy, restructuring, disciplinary, grievance, TUPE, consultations and other staff-related HR activities
- Take part in post termination discussions and settlement agreements
- Write contracts and respond to associated queries
- Support with all aspects of attendance management
- Guide managers in the process of performance improvement, appraisal, reward and engagement
- Support with holiday calculations and queries
- Create and develop policies and guides
- Support the HR Advisors within the business to develop their knowledge and skills
- Review and update HR documentation
 
A key part of the role will be prioritising and carrying out numerous tasks simultaneously to meet customer expectations
 
About You:
 
To be considered as an HR Consultant, you will need:
 
- Experience of working in a busy HR generalist role
- To be a chartered MCIPD professional
- Experience of using MS Office applications
- A degree level qualification (or equivalent)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrable decision making and problem-solving skills
- A flexible and positive approach to working in a small team
 
Experience of working with small and medium sized companies would be beneficial to your application. Experience of working within the education sector would also be an advantage, as would experience in compensation and benefits.
