Payroll Officer - Part time. 18 hrs maternity cover. Our client, based in Coalville is looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer on a part time basis to cover maternity. Being available on short notice, your role will involve the following;


*Provide an effective and efficient Payroll service which meets the customer's needs within current policies and procedures, best practice and legislation.

*Provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on pay, pension information and respond to pay queries making necessary adjustments to payroll as required.

*Maintain central payroll files including year-end reconciliation data.

*Working collaboratively with HR to ensure all new starter information, variations, leavers, time sheets and other payroll related documentation is accurately entered onto the Trent system to meet required deadlines.

*Responsible for ensuring the absence information for staff is updated regularly and statutory obligations and payments are met including statutory sick, maternity, adoption and paternity pay

*To carry monthly pare-transmission audit checks including gross to net calculations, year-end reconciliations, variance reports and excessive net pays.

*To ensure pension's auto enrolment requirements are met and that monthly opt in and opt outs of the pension are accurately processed.

*To assist in pension administration and monthly data collections.

*To assist in the preparation of P11ds.

*Ensure timely submission and reconciliation of monthly and annual returns including RTI, year end, pension and other requirements ensuring timely payments.

*To provide and prepare reports as required by managers, the HR and finance teams.

*Assist the Finance Manager, Director of HR and Director of Resources to identify opportunities to improve the service and systems within the department.

*To maintain an up to date knowledge of payroll and pensions legislation

*To investigate variances of the monthly payroll nominals within the accounting software as advised by the Finance Manager.
