Salary: GBP30,000 - GBP35,000

Job Type: 12 month FTC with the view to go permanent

Location: Pontefract with regional travel

Search HR & Development are delighted to be working with a large manufacturing and distribution business in pursuit of an Emerging Talent Specialist to drive the utilisation of the Apprenticeship Levy across the business.

Focusing initially on entry-level roles, such as Warehouse Operatives, your role will involve implementing and coordinating the government funded development initiatives, such as skills development programmes to increase retention and succession across the group. The apprenticeship funded courses will be targeted at those individuals currently working within the businesses, as opposed to new recruits. This will help to encourage entry-level employees to grow, develop and move internally across other functions within the business.

This role as Emerging Talent Specialist is a new role which will be based within an expanding Human Resources function. As the business is currently not utilising the full levy potential, you will need to work with external providers and educate managers across the business internally.

You will be responsible for:

• Supplier management of Apprenticeship Training Providers

• Regular reporting on the progress of Apprenticeships to senior internal stakeholders

• Effective management and reporting on the agreed budget for Apprenticeships

• Provide support to senior team members to implement Apprenticeship strategy, understanding compliance rules and amending/creating Professional Qualification process as required.

• Lead on the formation and ongoing management of administration processes to support Apprentices across the business

• Maintaining a thorough understanding of professional qualification pathways and ensure compliance with Apprenticeship rules.

• Co-ordinate course scheduling across qualifications liaising with business resource teams, tuition providers and Institute's and Apprenticeship Teams.

• Manage results processes advising the business on exam fails to ensure consistent application of the businesses' policy and identify any impact on Apprenticeships where appropriate.

• Assist senior team members with the monitoring and reporting of the professional qualification budget. Providing support to comply with government funding rules ensuring data meets requirements.

• Monitor performance across qualifications, liaising with tuition providers and Institute's to identify areas of concern and whether this impacts Apprenticeship.

To be considered for this exciting new position, we recommend the following skills and experience:

• Basic-Mid Level understanding of Apprenticeships in the UK and Apprenticeship Levy.

• Supplier management skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - minimum Basic level in Outlook, Word,Excel, Powerpoint

• Effective communication skills with all levels of colleagues including Board Directors, Senior Leaders, Line managers and Entry level colleagues

• Confident, clear and professional verbal and written communication

• Able to communicate effectively to both internal and external stakeholders

• Strong Project Management and time management skills including ability to successfully

• Enthusiasm for and evidence of administering Professional Qualifications
