Location – North Manchester M9, M8, M40

Grade 5 - £21,073 - £23,865

Full time – 35 hours per week

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity within our Estate Services Team on a fixed term contract basis until October 2019. The hours of work are from 08.00am to 15.30pm, Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required according to the demands of the service.

This post supports an already established and valued service which offers a wide range of activities and services to our residents and to Northwards Housing. The work can involve a variety of environmental based work to our gardens, green spaces, and other open spaces across our management area. This can also include the cleaning of communal areas and supporting our caretaking team. These roles ensure that we will provide a high quality, responsive and community focused service aiming to improve the local environment for residents and the communities in the North of Manchester.

About You

As a conscientious, reliable and self-motivated person you will have experience of working within a team as well as an understanding of health and safety issues and assessing risks. You will be required to work with minimal supervision, ensuring high work standards are maintained and that personal and customer safety is upheld at all times.

Good communication skills and the ability to confidently interact with residents is an important element of this post and applicants must project a professional image of the organisation at all times. The role involves a high degree of walking, manual handling, e.g. bending and lifting and therefore a good level of physical fitness is required. You are also required to work outdoors throughout the year at various locations across the Northwards area. 

Additional Information

A full UK driving license is essential as you are required to drive the company vehicle (Transit Tipper type). Must have held licence for a minimum of 12 months. Any points held on your licence must be disclosed.

Priority will be given to applicants from within the North of Manchester postcodes of M8, M9, M40.
