About the role:

This role will be working on the IP West of England Area Programme and covers a wide range of multidisciplinary projects including junction remodelling, re-signalling and introduction of new trains.

Civil Engineering input will be required for these projects.

What you will do:

Implement Rail systems and procedures to maintain a cost effective, high quality, safe and environmentally responsible approach to design, construction, commissioning and other technical activities on relevant projects, compliant with all relevant legislation.

Monitor specific projects managed by Infrastructure Investment so that they are engineered to the standards and specification.

Manage all engineering activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements.

Maintain the use of relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to allocated projects and manage the environmental aspects of allocated projects.

Provide project management advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision.

Manage so that the design/construction elements of relevant projects meet the requirements of current legislation, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.

Undertake reviews of design/construction activities.

Your experience will include: Ideally you will hold Network Rail experience and experience of assuring designers and contractors from GRIP 3 - 7.

Previous experience in civil engineering in a rail environment Chartered Engineer is desirable

Experience with stations, buildings and platforms coupled with knowledge of gauging

Experience in multidiscipline project environment including civils renewals Managing stakeholders including sponsors, asset managers, train operators, and any other stakeholders
