One of Europe's top producer of fresh produce is looking to take on a passionate and enthusiastic Farm Manager. They have farming operations all over Europe but you will be responsible for their baby leaf and herb farm in Kent.
The Job:
You'll be managing the site operations, ensuring production targets are met in full and within budget. This includes all planning, forecasting, buying of supplies, recruitment, H&S and logistics as well as all day-to-day growing responsibilities. You'll ensure that you and your team are growing the highest quality crops within all legal and company requirements.
You'll be reporting into the Head of UK Production and have the freedom to lead the farm with support available from your employer when you need it.
The person:
It is essential that you have experience of working in a similar position within fresh produce. Ideally you will have experience in baby leaf but if you have worked with brassica, carrots, parsnips or any other vegetable crop then we would still love to hear from you. Knowledge of irrigation and food safety is highly desirable, as are your FACTS & BASIS qualifications, however if you are not FACTS & BASIS qualified our client will put the right candidate through training if need be. A degree or equivalent qualification in agriculture, horticulture or a related subject is strongly preferable.
