Quality Control Inspector

Our client is a leading provider of solutions for weapon design, production and mounting requirements for Infantry, AFV, and Naval platforms, due to continued growth they are now looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join their Quality Department.
To provide Quality Control Inspection of precision engineered components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings and/or acceptance criteria using a range of inspection equipment and gauges.
Duties will include, but not limited to:
?? Inspect to ensure that products and processes comply with requirements, using established engineering techniques
?? Liaise with QC Manager/Supplier Quality Engineer to work alongside production schedules and timescales
?? Ensure that all non-conformities are recorded and appropriately dealt with and closed;
?? Ensure all quality data is captured;
?? Ensure all test equipment are maintained and in calibration;
?? Conduct audits, creating audits finding reports and determine proper corrective and opportunity for improvement;
?? Performing qualitative dimensional, surface finish and mechanical properties control of precision engineered components and assemblies from both internal manufacture and the supply chain;
?? Operation and programming (on and off-line) of Aberlink Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM);
?? Compilation of inspection reports;
?? Process of Non-conformities in line with the Quality Management System procedure(s);
?? Process of Supply Chain rejects - liaison with the Supplier Quality Engineer and Purchasing;
?? Process of concession requests - liaison with the Engineering and Purchasing departments;
?? Collaboration with the supply chain in liaison with the Supplier Quality Engineer.
?? Responsible in maintaining compliance with the Quality Management System;
?? Contribute to continuous improvement activities;
?? Contribute to maintaining a safe working environment by following safety policies and procedures and by reporting any safety concerns;
Essential Skills:
?? Mechanical Engineering qualified or equivalent experience
?? NDT (Magnetic Particle) inspection qualification
?? Lead auditor qualification or experience
?? Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001
?? Solid knowledge of manufacturing, surface treatment and surface finishing processes.
?? Solid Knowledge of variety of inspection tools
?? Solid Knowledge of CMM programming such as Aberlink or other CMM software
?? Demonstrate ability to solve practical problems and make logical decisions (8D reporting, Root Cause Analysis).
?? Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs), Process Capability analysis (Cp, Cpk), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
