Project Engineer - up to 50K - Manchester

I am looking for a Project Engineer to join a UK team based in Manchester, focused on delivering projects in the UK and expanding into Europe.

The primary responsibility is to assist the Lead Project Manager with the Project Execution including design co-ordination, procurement, manufacture, site installation, commissioning and project closure, therefore you will need to have a flexible and proactive approach, as the work load varies rapidly. Health and Safety is paramount to us, so you be expected to ensure that all projects are managed with health and safety as a priority.

The role will involve direct engagement with customers, collaboration with our design and manufacturing team, and working with regional interface designers and installation teams. The role will involve travelling and working away from home, predominantly in the UK and occasionally into Europe and Internationally. The successful candidate will report directly to one of our experienced Project Managers based in the UK.

The key duties will be

  • to participate in the preparation of tender documentation, including the compilation of budgets and programmes
  • To ensure the commercial terms and conditions are clear, agreed and understood by all team members.
  • To progress the project deliverables against the programme and budget, manage change control, ensure compliance with QA systems.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret designs correctly
  • To report as required on progress internally and to the client
  • To ensure projects are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Requirements Essential

  • Minimum 2 years previous employment ideally with project management / engineering experience within the ESI industry.
  • Bachelor degree or above on Electrical Engineering from a UK or overseas university
  • UK Driving Licence

Requirements Preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Project
  • Experience of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
  • Experience within the power industry. Major or working experience on protection & Control or Power Electronics field.
  • Experience of NEC and FIDIC Contracts
  • UK Health and Safety Qualification (IOSH / NEBOSH)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels within the business, with clients and contractors
  • An awareness of commercial acumen
