Gazetteer Officer - Gazetteer Technician

Gazetteer Officer - Gazetteer Technician sought by a large organisation with offices in Newbury. You will work in a small GIS team and be the Gazetteer Specialist.

Role purpose:

• To provide the Local Land and Property Gazetteer and Local Street Gazetteer service
• To lead, promote and actively manage the use of Gazetteers and Address Management to make best use of these resources.

Responsibilities:

• To manage, support, maintain and develop the Local Land and Property and Local Streetworks gazetteers
• To develop and periodically review a corporate Address Management strategy.
• To contribute to the business GIS Strategies in relation to all property address matters.
• To ensure that the organisation meets its statutory obligations with regards to LLPG and LSG maintenance and submissions
• To provide technical support and advice to customers and colleagues on all gazetteer related matters.

Experience sought:

• At least 1 years' experience working within a gazetteer role
• Some GIS knowledge would be ideal
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey technical issues effectively to all knowledge levels.
• Able to communicate effectively both formally and informally with all those with whom working interfaces arise, whether they be colleagues, users, customers or suppliers
