Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Defence and Research organisation for an experienced talent development professional to join their Talent & Academy function to develop and implement structured development programmes within their business.
This is a key strategic role to design, develop and implement structured assessment and professional development programmes for the identification and ongoing professional soft skills development of emerging and future leaders and high performing individuals.
The main deliverables of this role are as follows -
- To create and deliver a set of talent manoeuvres fit for the enhancement of careers and potential staff across the business to allow for clear succession planning, enhance employee engagement and to improve retention rates
- Lead on the development of new talent training interventions in Tandem with the Academy delivery team, utilising external providers where required
- Manage the annual talent review cycle - working with Business Unit HR teams to coordinate effective reviews by technical and functional leaders
- Work with Head of Talent to prepare Leadership Talent Review
- Manage timely outputs and updates following review in cycle to assess for the talent programmes
- Alongside Internal /resourcing, effectively communicate with the Talent list population to maximise movement and promotion from within
- Create and maintain key role list with effect succession plan - working with respurcing to deliver a monthly GAP report
- Support Business HR teams in the effective communication of Talent Programmes in meetings, workshops and conferences
- Collaborate with Coaching & mentoring Lead to ensure that these areas are underpinning the experience of each talent development
The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -
- Hands on experience of the creation of talent development procedures - specifically with High Potential or Leadership preparation in mind
- Experience of talent delivery preferably within a complex or federated business environment
- Degree educated or proven experience in a similar role, not necessarily looking just at HR qualifications - will consider other fields of experience so long as practical talent development experience
- It would be nice to have BPS certification but not a prerequisite, must be able to manage assessment and feedback
- Able to gain and maintain UK SC level Security Clearance
- Flexible for occasional UK travel as required by demands of the role
This is a newly created role within the business with high visibility at Exec level to develop and implement strong talent development and succession planning programmes to engage staff and offer long term professional development incentives and a structure that can be replicated and assessed for "Return on Investment".
