In a nutshell

This position is a large production role contributing to the delivery of 2 catalogues and 27,000 new lines per year. You will provide effective leadership, development and governance of a category team within the Product Information department. You will be responsible for managing the end to end process associated with new line induction to the Argos customer channels (Digital & Paper) ensuring the Product Information team deliver against the business and customer needs.

We are on an exciting journey to re-establishing our product content, we want our customers to recognise our content instantly as Argos. Our goal is to surprise and delight our customers by providing them will all the information and richer content required to make an informed purchase. Because of this, having an excellent understanding of quality product content, SEO, mobile first approach and a high attention to detail are vital skills for this role.

The role holder will be key to identifying new content opportunities and removing customer pain points in our shopping journeys, ensuring we stay ahead of our competitors.

What I need to do

To provide leadership to a large team who are accountable for the day-to-day maintenance of all product related data within the company's main product Information database, ensuring that all customer facing product information, continually meets the changing needs of the Argos customer.
To facilitate operational efficiencies whilst looking for opportunities for continuous improvement and ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of product content to schedule.
Encourage a culture of collaboration across teams. Influencing key stakeholders across function.
Develop & Coach the Product Information Team ensuring that customer focus, commercial awareness and category expertise are achieved by all members of the team.
To effectively plan, organise and prioritise the requirements of the business against required deadlines.
Effectively implement change management, we are ever evolving to meet the demands of a changing market and growing business as we continue to enhance our digital capabilities.
Implement a digital/mobile first approach to our content creation utilising our own photographic studio Bradwell media.
Effective management across multiple sites - As Argos is now a part of the Sainsbury's Group we are required to collaborate with stakeholders across multiple sites, building relationships which enable distant working.
Implement content strategy -Ensure growth of relevant categories through successful implementation of category content plans, ensuring product content is executed in line with customer journeys and optimises the customer experience.
Act as project lead where needed on key production and content uplift projects.
Own supplier and agency relationships where required.

Effective and efficient governance of the new line induction to meet catalogue production deadlines for print and digital launches.

How I will succeed

Support weekly targets for Sales/Conversion/Participation through successful launching of new lines to schedule.
Implementation of product content plans outlined by the digital content strategy planner.
Support our digital sales channels by enabling our customers to easily find the right product first time as easily as possible.
Managing the team to deliver high quality product launches which meets the customers' needs.

Reducing Q&A and returns within your category by addressing content challenges.

Resources available to me

Support the wider Product information team which deliver the enrichment of product content for new and existing products.
Job holder has no direct responsibilities for budgets. However, budget may need to be sought by other teams to facilitate some projects.
Job holder needs to be aware of financial impacts of decisions & to ensure risks & opportunities are mitigated / flagged to budget holder.
Responsible for relations with circa 100 suppliers and 3rd party agencies and a cross functional network of internal stakeholders spanning Traders, Digital, Creative and Marketing.

Bradwell Media- our own photographic and video studio is available to produce content for the needs of the business.
