The Keele CTU is based in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Keele CTU has a strong track record in developing innovative approaches to research data collection and maintaining successful recruitment to the portfolio of studies.

This post offers an exciting opportunity for someone from a clinical or non-clinical background to provide high quality project management and co-ordination support for clinical trials and observational research studies which are within the CTU’s portfolio. You will be appointed to the post of Trials Manager or Study Coordinator (depending upon experience and skills) in the Keele Clinical Trials Unit (CTU), which is a UKCRC registered CTU.

You will be educated to Degree or Graduate Diploma level (or have equivalent demonstrable experience working in a Clinical Research/Project Management role), along with experience of successful project management. You will also have experience and an understanding of applied quantitative or qualitative research methods, undertaken in health settings, along with a willingness to work flexibly, according to the current demands of the job. An understanding of the governance arrangements for health research and experience of completing successful ethics applications would be advantageous.

To be considered for the Trials Manager role, you will also have experience of managing a small team in a health or research setting and proven experience of managing trials or cohort studies. You will also have experience of applied clinical research and of planning, managing and quality assuring study set-up, recruitment and follow-up procedures. This will include a sound knowledge of the management of Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs), in addition to experience of managing patient based data collection. Evidence of preparing documentation/applications/reports (preferably for research purposes) is also essential.
