Our client is looking for a team leader for a night shift. In particular you must have some supervisory experience asyou will be required to lead teams and cover the night supervisor on occasion.
This is a temp to permanent position.
The hours of work are as follows: Monday to Thursday 22:00 - 08:15 (07:45 finish Friday morning) The shift is 4 weekday nights and attracts a 25% shift premium. You would work on days initially for around 6 weeks to assess your capabilities
Production - responsible for entire production of products, including taking receipt of goods (goods inwards), the manufacturing and assembly of products, product, and part testing, packing of finished products and despatch. To ensure adherence to factory standards to ensure quality and consistency
Responsible to: Shift Supervisor
Main purpose of the role:
To support the Shift Supervisor by providing knowledge and expertise in a production area/flow line to ensure the smooth running of operations with a primary focus on quality, cost and delivery, leading to the provision of a world-class manufacturing facility.
Key Tasks:
1. Working closely with the Shift Supervisors to plan and co-ordinate the manufacture of goods within your designated flow line/s in a timely and efficient manner to achieve objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as determined by the Production/Shift Manager.
2. To plan resources within your flow line/s to ensure all jobs are prioritised accordingly and to act as the 'go-to' person within the flow line for any issues that can be resolved quickly and do not require engineering help.
1. Provide feedback and appropriate information (including the handover of priority work and identifying any issues or opportunities) to the Shift Supervisor and working with the Shift Supervisor to resolve any issues as they arise on a shift by shift basis.
1. To work closely with the Production Engineer assigned to the flow line/s to ensure all issues are seen to straight away to reduce down-time.
1. To continuously monitor flow line rates (Takt time), identify opportunities for increased efficiency and communicate these to the engineer and followed up in a timely manner.
1. To assist the Shift Supervisor to supervise staff. This will include providing feedback and conducting appraisals and one-to-ones with team members, motivating and mentoring staff within the flow line/s and taking responsibility for setting break times during the shift to minimise downtime.
1. To deputise for the Shift Supervisor when required and to ensure that you consistently lead by example.
1. To take responsibility for ensuring that the quality of the product is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.
1. To ensure strict adherence to quality procedures and targets. This will include ensuring all team members comply with Electro-Static Discharge requirements.
1. Ensuring that the Company's policies and procedures on Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety are implemented.
1. To undertake other duties appropriate to the level and character of the work as may reasonably be required by the Company.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel;
* Excellent organisational skills (planning, organising and prioritising);
* Strong people leadership qualities;
* High level of interpersonal skill;
* Ability to make decisions;
* Ability to use initiative;
* Ability to implement and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Knowledge
* Employee Relations.
Experience
* Minimum of 2 years' recent and relevant experience in manufacturing experience;
* Experience of leading teams with tight quality and efficiency parameters;
* Lean tools and techniques;
