A new role has arisen for an experienced Sewing Machinist / Seamstress. This is a full time permanent role which would involve working within a manufacturing environment located near Brighton, East Sussex.
The fabrics used in this role would be required to cover various types of office furniture, wall panels and desk top screens.
You will be working mostly in a sewing room but on occasions you may need to assist the upholstering and design teams.
On occasions being able to take a prototype and to make this into a quality finished product. The ideal candidate would have previously worked in an industrial environment, but not essential.
There will be 3 sewing machines available to use (Model: Tysew Mark V + Model: PFAFF 2545). You must be able to alter lengths, be able to handsew as well as machine sew, hand beading including sewing and gluing.
Minimum 2 year's experience working with soft and fine fabrics, being able to work on a production level so accuracy, a good eye for detail / attention is very important. Customer products are expected to be made to a high standard.
All candidates must be able to read, write and speak fluent English because this role will involve taking verbal and written instructions and liaising with other departments. Must have strong experience gained as a Sewing Machinist and Seamstress.
Training and Induction will be provided and all work uniform and PPE will be supplied. Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm
