Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician
Heavy goods vehicle technician, mechanical and electrical experience, minimum of 5 years’ experience, including vehicle fault finding
Computer literate
Must have a thorough knowledge of DoT / VOSA regulations for commercial vehicles
Rolling road experience would be an advantage

Role
Responsible for inspection and maintenance of the company’s small fleet of commercial vehicles & forklifts, ensuring that all relevant documentation is correct and up to date
In addition will also have the responsibility for carrying out LPG conversions to customers’ vehicles
Full training will be given on the system
R&M support to be part of the role once the vehicle conversion is completed
The LPG system is both a mechanical, gas & electrical based system.
Control of the system is through bespoke software designed and developed by the company and controlled via computer laptop
Full training will be given on the LPG system including installation and diagnostics
It would be an advantage to have knowledge of using a rolling road as this make up part of the development side of the work, this is not essential and training would be given, but if previous experience using a rolling road is held this would be advantageous.
Example of LPG System Installation
Customer vehicle to be surveyed and stripped of redundant parts such the standard diesel tank. New hardware and electrical equipment to be installed, new items to be fitted include ECU, wiring looms, fuel rail, LPG gas tank, diesel tank, vaporiser, injectors, in cab switch.
The system being fitted is UK designed and manufactured totally by ourselves. Full control over design and specification is held by the company. You will be expected to aid the design and development through your experience and service work when supporting vehicle build and maintaining the various customers fleets.
