JOB TITLE: Events Manager
SALARY & BENEFITS: salary circa GBP23,000 to GBP28,000 dependent on experience and skills plus benefits
WORKING HOURS: Full Time - predominantly Monday to Friday but will entail some weekend work for events - Part Time and Flexible working hours considered for the right candidate

Our client are a farmer owned agricultural buying group based in Louth who were established in 1961 and are currently looking for an organised person with a good initiative about them to join the team in their busy office based in Louth (commutable from Grimsby, Skegness, Horncastle and surrounding areas, where you will be required to drive leads and interest an convert sales in people holding events at agricultural sites and farms that are part of the collective,

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person with a Background in Marketing, Events Planning or Sales to join a new division supporting farmers in running events with a growing start up division of the company.

The Events Manager will be a wide and varied role, and also an exciting one where you will cover a range of tasks, so some days will be very different to the last. Although you will predominantly be taking enquiries from people looking to hold events such as weddings and will be the person responsible in liaising with customers, farmers and suppliers, you will also be responsible in the planning and the arranging of the events. You will bespoke and tailor each event to each brief but will also be responsible in working out the logistics and smooth running for the events which will cover everything from catering, to ensuring adequate facilities are available on site. In addition to the Events Planning & Sales generation side of things, you will also be required to carry out general admin and marketing tasks such as utilising digital marketing and social media methods to drive leads, updating CMS systems, and communicating and working with colleagues from other departments within the business.
THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate for the Events Manager role will be an enthusiastic self motivated person who is able to work on your own initiative, unsupervised, and able to deliver high levels of customer service skills with the ability to negotiate with suppliers and farmers. You should be someone who has experience in Events, particularly weddings, but candidates with a sales & marketing background who demonstrate suitable experience will be considered. In addition, you will need to have strong admin skills, be commercially aware and be flexible enough to undertake what needs to be done in a start up business. Candidates will also need to have adequate means to commute daily to Louth, Lincolnshire and have access to their own vehicle as travel between sites will be required.

Although not essential, Agricultural or Farming experience or knowledge would be desirable.

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Events Manager role in Louth:-
  • Must have previous experience in Events planning and marketing
  • Highly organised person with strong admin skills - including experience in digital marketing and social media to drive leads
  • Must be able to deliver high levels of customer service, and have a polite, clear and confident telephone manner essential
  • Good negotiating skills and being commercially aware essential
  • Must be able to take a flexible approach to working patterns as will need to attend events
  • Must be able to commute to Louth, Lincolnshire
